Job Description

Cisco is hiring for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who will join its Enterprise AI team to develop secure and scalable Generative AI platforms. The position requires expertise in three domains which include cloud infrastructure and AI systems and security to support enterprise artificial intelligence deployment throughout international operations. Engineers will develop Cisco’s future AI system through their work on Kubernetes platforms and service mesh design and infrastructure automation systems. 

Qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field

Main Duties

  • Develop and manage Terraform scripts for provisioning GCP and on-prem Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Configure and optimize Anthos Service Mesh (ASM) and Istio for secure service communication.
  • Implement IAM roles, GCP quotas, encryption, and secrets management following secure-by-design principles.
  • Build observability dashboards using Elasticsearch and Kibana for system monitoring and alerting.
  • Perform capacity planning and scaling for AI platform services across hybrid environments.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ten years of professional work experience in either cloud operations or DevOps or site reliability engineering positions. 
  • Possesses practical skills in using Kubernetes and Terraform and Docker and automated cloud infrastructure systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of identity access management systems together with Google Cloud Platform services and Istio/Anthos service mesh technologies.
  • Experience operating secure distributed systems which maintain scalability across production environments.
  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field. 

Preferred Skills

  • CI/CD tools which include Jenkins and Spinnaker and GitHub Actions. 
  • Hybrid cloud networking together with traffic management systems. 
  • Analytical abilities which enable me to optimize costs and predict capacity requirements. 
  • Knowledge of both Apigee and the ELK stack, which includes Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana. 
  • Skills in both scripting and automation which I apply to multiple cloud platforms.
