Job Description

Amazon requires a Principal Software Engineer for its Alexa AI division who will develop next-generation AI systems. The candidate will develop AI systems that can handle multiple languages and different types of data while providing service to millions of users around the world. And also develop system architecture to power Alexa+ experiences through his work with Generative AI technology and his development of dependable high-performance systems.

Main Duties

  • Lead technical direction for Alexa AI systems ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Design and implement distributed systems supporting large-scale AI and ML workloads globally.
  • Drive innovation using Generative AI models for advanced customer-facing AI experiences.
  • Architect AI capability routing, orchestration, and intelligent model selection frameworks.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate across teams to align technical vision and execution.

Essential Qualifications

  • Extensive software development experience together with deep knowledge of distributed systems architectural design. 
  • Demonstrated his ability to create scalable systems through his design work which delivers both reliability and performance enhancements. 
  • Engineering teams through her mentoring work while managing multiple technical projects that had major organizational effects. 
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork abilities which enable him to work effectively with engineering, product, and research teams worldwide. 
  • Successfully create technical strategies when dealing with difficult situations that lack clear solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in constructing extensive cloud infrastructures that maintain operational uptime and meet stringent security requirements. 
  • Knowledge about AI systems which include machine learning models and intelligent agents. 
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge regarding the complete software development process together with established engineering industry practices. 
  • Possesses experience with systems that can scale to handle substantial data traffic requirements. 
  • Knowledge about how AI systems operate in various locations and customer service environments worldwide.
