Job Description

Amazon is hiring a Principal Software Development Engineer, at Alexa AI who will create advanced AI technologies for future development. The role requires designing scalable AI orchestration systems which will decrease model latency and create evaluation systems. The candidate will lead the architectural development of GenAI services while establishing the technical direction and creating dependable solutions which meet customer needs through their knowledge of AI research and distributed systems.

Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience: 10+ years (including large-scale AI system experience)

Main Duties

  • Lead Alexa AI AIDo org’s technical direction and architecture decisions for large-scale AI systems.
  • Design and implement scalable, distributed solutions integrating multi-modal and multi-lingual AI capabilities.
  • Build infrastructure for model orchestration, query routing, latency optimization, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop evaluation, QA, and safe deployment frameworks for continuous AI improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical vision with business objectives.
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices in AI system design, deployment, and responsible AI usage.

Essential Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience working as a software developer. 
  • Strong skills in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms development. 
  • Demonstrate skills through work on distributed systems, machine learning inference infrastructure and large-scale artificial intelligence platforms. 
  • Developed production artificial intelligence systems that provide services to users from different parts of the world. 
  • Establish technical strategies while working with intricate projects that have major effects.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with distributed systems that use multiple architectural tiers through their work with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) systems. 
  • Possesses practical knowledge of working with Generative AI systems and managing Large Language Model orchestration. 
  • Acquired knowledge about cloud computing services and container technology and system monitoring tools. 
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills when he coordinates technical work between different teams.
