Job Description

Apple is hiring an Operations NPI Test Engineer in Bengaluru to support new product introductions across global manufacturing sites. The role focuses on mechanical engineering, manufacturing testing, robotics, machine vision, automation, and test station development. It entails working with hardware, operations, vendors, and contract manufacturers while ensuring scalable, robust, and cost-efficient solutions in large-scale production.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of NPI at Apple’s manufacturing sites globally.
  • Facilitate cooperation between robotics, vision, fixtures, and automation with engineering teams.
  • Evaluate mechanical design, station development, fabrication, and vendor correlation.
  • Perform DFM analysis, FMEA reviews, and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Manage failure analysis, problem solving, qualification, and automation readiness activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in mechanical engineering in large-scale mobile manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience in working together with hardware design, quality, process, equipment, and manufacturing engineering groups.
  • Familiarity with GR&R, CPK, DOE, calibration, failure analysis, and correlation study techniques.
  • Ability to work at the supplier location and to travel internationally during the product development phase.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working independently in a high-pressure environment within manufacturing facilities.
  • Practical experience in ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, UR Robotics and machine vision.
  • Develops integrated manufacturing processes focused on improving operational efficiency and product quality. 
  • Experience in statistical validation, including GR&R, SPC, DOE and CPK.
  • Project/people management background with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
