Job Description

AMD is hiring a Software Engineer who will develop AI models which include LLM and Vision and MultiModal systems for deployment on AMD GPU hardware. The position requires candidates to enhance AI framework performance through their work with open-source repositories and their development of GPU kernel optimization and multi-GPU and multi-node AI workload scaling solutions.

Main Duties:

  • Develop essential AI models which include LLM, Vision and MultiModal components for efficient operation and performance on AMD GPUs.
  • Improve AI frameworks through optimization of PyTorch and TensorFlow upstream repositories which will enhance both training and inference performance.
  • Together with internal GPU library teams to study their workloads which will lead to better training and inference results.
  • GPU kernel optimization work needs to concentrate on AI operator functions which include GEMM and Attention through dedicated engineering teams.
  • AI workloads need distributed computing solutions which enable efficient operation across multiple GPU and multi-node systems.
  • AI applications need software engineering and testing and performance tuning to achieve robustness.
  • Open-source framework maintainers to ensure that code changes meet upstream integration requirements for effective and timely results.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of C++ and Python which they use to develop artificial intelligence applications in Linux operating systems.
  • Possesses knowledge of GPU computing technologies which include HIP and CUDA and OpenCL.
  • Worked with various AI models which include natural language processing and vision and audio and recommendation systems.
  • Exceptional abilities in debugging and performance analysis and test design.
  • Capability to work both independently and within team environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Enhance GPU kernel performance for demanding AI workloads. 
  • Knowledge about the different architectural designs used in distributed artificial intelligence systems. 
  • Experience which involves both contributing to open-source projects and integrating those contributions into main software products. 
  • Demonstrates advanced abilities in analytical work and problem-solving tasks together with software design competencies.
