Job Description

IBM is looking for an AI Back-End Developer who will create advanced AI framework systems for IBM Z platforms. The position requires building backend systems and developing open-source artificial intelligence systems while enhancing machine learning technologies for better performance and scalability and system reliability. The applicant will work with agile teams to develop advanced artificial intelligence systems that meet high standards of security and performance.

Main Duties

  • Design, develop, debug, and deliver backend solutions for AI frameworks and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Apply design thinking principles to build user-centric, reliable, and scalable AI applications.
  • Work on machine learning and deep learning technologies to drive innovation in AI systems.
  • Ensure performance, security, stability, and resiliency of AI backend solutions consistently.

Essential Qualifications

  • Practical work with PyTorch internals which consists of TorchDynamo and TorchInductor and AOTAutograd. 
  • Programming skills in both Python and C++ languages which enable me to perform advanced debugging procedures. 
  • Improved the execution paths of AI models to enhance their performance during training and inference operations. 
  •  GPU programming and AI accelerator technologies and backend system integration processes. 
  • Experience includes implementing DevOps methodologies which guarantee successful AI framework deployment with high quality standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge about AI systems which includes their operational processes and methods for managing memory and executing tasks simultaneously. 
  • Possesses practical experience with both distributed PyTorch runtime systems and its parameter sharding methods. 
  • Expertise in both torch.compile and backend optimization tools which they have used in practical situations. 
  • Possesses excellent communication abilities which enable them to work effectively with international teams. 
  • Experience developing open-source artificial intelligence projects and backend system development projects.
