Job Description

Meta is hiring a Linguistic Engineer in Hyderabad to support its Reality Labs Wearables division. The role requires the development of datasets and pipelines with models that support both conversational AI and multimodal assistant systems. The team works together with machine learning teams to improve AI-based user experiences through their expertise in natural language processing and data engineering and analytical methods.

Main Duties

  • Create machine learning systems through the construction of datasets, pipelines and development of models for AI assistant performance. 
  • Create guidelines and prompts together with data patches which will help build products.
  • Assessing product and model quality requirements using ongoing feedback collection and iterative testing procedures. 
  • The ASR, TTS, NLU, NLG, LLM, and Knowledge Graph systems require ML teams to work together in their development efforts. 
  • Support researchers to create experiments that will lead to better AI product performance and development of new features.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept to launch while ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Drive improvements in data systems, workflows, and best practices.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree which should be obtained in Linguistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field. 
  • Two years of work experience in either data science or software engineering or computational linguistics. 
  • Demonstrate expertise in using Python SQL and PHP/Hack along with data analysis software. 
  • Practical knowledge of text analysis and scripting and database systems which include both relational and NoSQL databases. 
  • Demonstrates two main abilities which include working together with others and solving problems while managing uncertain situations.

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or computational linguistics.
  • Acquired experience through their work with machine learning systems to connect knowledge graphs and lexicons and ontologies.
  • Advanced skills required for the development of extensive datasets and intricate data processing systems.
  • Knowledge about testing artificial intelligence systems and maintaining software versions and ensuring code quality standards.
  • Fluency in Indian/Asian languages and interest in NLP or conversational AI.
  • Ethical artificial intelligence standards which require both bias reduction and risk evaluation.
  • Artificial intelligence tools and prompt design and systems that operate through agent-based technology.
