Job Description

Wipro is looking for a VMware Server Administrator who will handle enterprise virtualization and on-premises cloud infrastructure management through the use of VMware and Cloud technologies. The position requires network operations staff to maintain reliable infrastructure systems while performing VMware platform operations and automated system functions and troubleshooting network issues in large corporate environments.

Main Duties

  • Manage administration, configuration, and maintenance of VMware infrastructure components.
  • Design and support VMware Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) environments.
  • Monitor and manage VMware ESXi, vSAN, NSX, VCF, and related virtualization technologies.
  • Provide troubleshooting and performance optimization for VMware environments.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity using Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
  • Automate VM deployment and infrastructure configuration processes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve system and network issues.
  • Manage migration of virtual machines across data centers and physical-to-virtual environments.

Essential Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of VMware technologies which include VMware vSphere and ESXi and vSAN. 
  • The person has worked with VMware NSX and VCF and SDDC Manager environments. 
  • Practical experience using VMware Aria Operations (vROPs) to monitor systems and plan capacity requirements. 
  • Knowledge about storage technologies which include SAN and iSCSI and replication systems. 
  • Experience in both configuration and management of hyper-converged infrastructure systems which include Dell VxRail.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in both cloud computing and automation technologies. 
  • Possesses knowledge about hyper-converged infrastructure solutions. 
  • Knowledge about backup systems, disaster recovery systems and infrastructure automation technologies. 
  • Possesses coding and scripting abilities which he uses to create infrastructure automation systems. 
  • Experience with both ITIL processes and project management methods.
