Job Description

Nationwide is looking for a specialist, software engineer – Guidewire InsuranceNow who will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining insurance technology solutions. This position specifically involves improving the functionalities of Guidewire InsuranceNow within the field of policy management and related insurance processes. The applicant will participate in the creation, designing, testing, debugging, documenting, and implementing of software applications which are required for engineering and business needs.

Qualification: Undergraduate background in computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent technology experience or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the design of Guidewire Insurance Now application using engineering as well as agile approaches.
  • Optimize the processes, business logic, models of products, integration, API, and services of the Guidewire InsuranceNow application.
  • Make sure that secure software engineering principles are used throughout the entire development process.
  • Investigate software bugs, production issues, integration problems, and performance problems, collaborating with technical teams in order to ensure quick solutions.
  • Work with product, QA, architecture, and international teams in order to implement scalable solutions based on business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years’ work experience in technologies such as software engineering, application development, and technical problem-solving.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems or any relevant field.
  • Previous experience in software like Guidewire, particularly InsuranceNow, and different other software like PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter.
  • Experience with SDLC approach, software testing, systems integration, cloud computing, CI/CD and software security.
  • Experience in programming languages like Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in configuring and developing on the Guidewire Platform.
  • Experience in API integration, messaging, batch processing, and data integration across the integrated platforms.
  • The candidate must have experience working with different insurance business processes such as policy administration, underwriting, billing, and claims processing.
  • DevSecOps approach, continuous integration, continuous delivery, cloud computing, and secure software development.
  • The candidate should have good collaborative, time management, and problem-solving skills.
