Job Description

Optum is recruiting an Associate AI/ML Engineer in Hyderabad, India, to create smart solutions and advanced enterprise applications for improved health care experiences. The job requires 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or any relevant field, along with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or any equivalent experience. Responsibilities include creating Generative AI solutions, applications of large language models, RAG systems, and evaluation mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product needs and design technical solutions considering scalability, extensibility, security, and costs.
  • Create development stories based on product features and cooperate with product and development teams.
  • Work on application development and support the technology stack along with implementing modern technical solutions to technical challenges.
  • Design and develop AI/ML solutions with the help of large language models, RAG architecture, and evaluation systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams, solve technical problems, and deliver product features in time frames agreed upon.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or relevant work experience.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or similar areas.
  • Experience in working with Java, Spring Boot, Camunda, Node.js, Next.js, GraphQL, and Kafka.
  • Experience in working with React, TypeScript, web components or Parcel, Snowflake, or big data reporting and API development.
  • Knowledge of Python programming, machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, and understanding of GenAI, LLMs, RAG architecture, LLM evaluation frameworks, and Azure AI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in either the healthcare sector or healthcare technology solutions.
  • Experience in developing applications under the Agile framework.
  • Experience with the Azure Document Intelligence Service as well as other Azure AI technologies.
  • Experience in enterprise reporting, data platforms, and application integration.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team and convey solutions effectively.
