Job Description

CGI is hiring for the position of AI Engineer, which will be located in Hyderabad & Bangalore, and the job entails the designing, creation, and delivery of enterprise-grade generative AI solutions. The few domains that this position revolves around include agentic AI, large language models, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, and agent-based architecture. The knowledge of programming in Python is required for the development of end-to-end AI solutions, whereas LangChain makes the development process easier. Other job roles include the design of scalable RAG solutions and mentoring developers, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design and development of scalable generative AI solutions leveraging large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI architectures.
  • Architect RAG, multi-agent, agentic, and multimodal solutions for enterprise use cases.
  • Work on the development of full-stack AI solutions using Python, including integrations with APIs, enterprise platforms, and structured/unstructured data sets.
  • Design and maintain embedding models, vector searches, semantic searches, and LangChain applications.
  • Coach software engineers and work on AI frameworks, reusable building blocks, reference architectures, governance, security, and responsible AI approaches.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7-12 years’ worth of work experience in software engineering, development of AI, or any other technology-related field.
  • Experience in programming with the Python language and in developing APIs with FastAPI or similar technologies.
  • Experience in working with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini.
  • Experience in developing AI applications using LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, and Semantic Kernel.
  • Knowledge about prompt engineering, context engineering, evaluation of AI, vector databases, and enterprise data integration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing Agentic AI products, which include multi-agent processes, tool orchestration, memory management, and human-in-the-loop functionality.
  • Experience in designing RAG systems utilizing embeddings, chunking, vector search, re-ranking, and enterprise knowledge retrieval.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol, function calling, and enterprise tool integrations.
  • Experience in AWS, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline deployments for AI applications.
  • Experience in analytics, debugging, problem solving, communication, stakeholder management, monitoring, observability, and responsible AI.
