Job Description

Databricks is hiring a Director for Technical Solutions who will handle Big Data and AI projects to establish and expand a Data and AI engineering team for his regional operations. The role requires operators to maintain both reliability and performance standards for customer production workloads while handling Advanced data engineering and AI use cases. The leader will work together with worldwide teams to provide continuous support for clients throughout the APJ and EMEA areas.

Qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Main Duties:

  • Lead and grow a regional team of Data & AI technical experts to support customer production workloads.
  • Oversee support operations across APJ and EMEA regions ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Engage with enterprise customers to understand business challenges and support their Data & AI strategies.
  • Drive performance optimization, workload stabilization, and resiliency of large-scale data systems.
  • Collaborate with product engineering and internal teams to enhance platform capabilities and supportability.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 18 years of information technology experience together with advanced skills in both Data Engineering and Software Engineering. 
  • Six years of experience in leadership positions which involved managing multiple managers and extensive technical staff. 
  • The applicant shows verified abilities to manage both extensive distributed systems and technical systems that are used by customers. 
  • Practical experience working with Big Data technologies which include Spark and Hadoop and Kafka. 
  • Demonstrates strong abilities to solve problems and lead teams and communicate effectively in high-pressure work situations.

Preferred Skills

  • Work experience which includes Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science applications. 
  • Possesses advanced skills which enable them to work with Apache Spark and systems that handle extensive data processing requirements. 
  • Expertise in both cloud platforms and architectures that handle streaming data. 
  • Capacity to work together with international teams while leading projects that involve different organizational departments. 
  • Demonstrates a customer-oriented approach which includes complete responsibility for their work and the ability to resolve problems.
