Job Description

Cisco is hiring a database administrator for Oracle database infrastructure in an enterprise environment to ensure proper functioning. This job entails automation of databases, scripting, lifecycle management, monitoring, security, and operational excellence. It involves Oracle RAC, SQL, Python, shell scripting, high availability, disaster recovery, performance management, and working in conjunction with SRE teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Oracle Databases, including their setup, configuration, and administration.
  • Perform upgrades/migrations in the database through the use of AutoUpgrade, RMAN, and Data Pump utilities.
  • DBA tasks must be done automatically through the use of shell scripts, Python, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Make the database highly available and recoverable through monitoring, incident management, and HA/DR.
  • The database must be analyzed and optimized through AWR, ASH, and ADDM.

Requirements

  • 8 to 13 years’ experience as Oracle DBA in production environment.
  • Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting, and Python.
  • Experience with Oracle ASM, RAC, ADG, RMAN, and OEM.
  • Have experience in working on Oracle database 19c and 23ai.
  • Working experience in a Linux/Unix production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible and Terraform for performing the database management process.
  • Experience in working with Docker and Kubernetes for database management in the containerised environment.
  • Experience in working with Oracle applications on public clouds like OCI, AWS, and Azure.
  • Experience with databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL & MySQL along with Oracle enterprise environments & platforms.
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills along with being self-motivated in an agile & DevOps environment.
