Job Description

Amazon is hiring a Data Engineer II in its Intelligent Talent Acquisition (ITA) – Workforce Intelligence team to build scalable data infrastructure and transform hiring through data-driven insights. The role requires architects who will create complete data systems which will collect information from various sources to develop analytics tools that make hiring processes more precise and effective and help users make better choices.

Main Duties:

  • Building complete data systems which include both data processing systems and their associated data pipelines to handle extensive data sets. 
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders, software developers and business intelligence engineers to discover new data sources which they will implement into their operations. 
  • Transforming unprocessed data into organized data sets which can be used with analytics tools and business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, AWS and QuickSight.
  • Design and manage data flow systems from source to data warehouse ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Enable team self-service by building tools and frameworks for independent data access and troubleshooting.

Essential Qualifications

  • Require applicants to have at least 1+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Possess experience in data modeling, data warehousing and ETL pipeline development.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in any of the following query languages SQL, HiveQL and SparkSQL or equivalent languages.
  • Knowledge about scripting languages which include Python and equivalent languages.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills to handle large-scale data systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Hadoop, Hive, Spark and EMR grow up as big data technologies. 
  • Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI and Datastage as their ETL tools. 
  • Demonstrate capacity to collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers through their work with different teams. 
  • Possesses knowledge about how cloud-based data platforms and scalable architecture function together. 
  • Strong communication abilities which help him or her explain technical information and data findings to others.
