Salesforce is in search of an equally skilled PMTS/Architect to be part of its Database Engineering group in India. The position is concentrated on the areas of machine learning and AI, and their implementation to improve and optimize Salesforce’s massive cloud database infrastructure. In addition, the person working in this capacity will be part of the development of AI-based solutions like conducting root cause analysis, summarizing logs, optimizing queries, predicting execution plans, and creating self-healing database systems, besides coordination with global architect and engineering teams.

Main Duties
- Independently steer the roadmap, design, and delivery of database features of medium complexity.
- Be the one who knows the most about the subject, working together with database architects to produce solutions that are ready for the market.
- Create and introduce features that are AI-based for the database systems that are scalable, and have a mission-critical nature.
- Use ML and LLMs on telemetry, logs, and observability data for root cause analysis, spotting anomalies, and enhancing performance.
- Take responsibility for the design decisions while making sure that the quality, security, and reliability standards are met.
- Be a part of the design, code, test, and architecture reviews across different scrum teams.
- Set up and refine the engineering best practices, tools, and telemetry processes.
- Quickly resolve customer issues while upholding Salesforce trust standards.
Essential Qualifications
- Solid background with open-source or commercial DBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
- Practical knowledge of machine learning, reinforcement learning, LLMs, AutoML, or knowledge graphs.
- Experience in systems research or large scale distributed systems.
- Proven track record of being able to deliver complex, innovative features in enterprise-level software.
- Agile, fast-paced engineering environments have been your workplace.
- Possess outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Published research in the leading venues (SIGMOD, VLDB, NeurIPS, ICDE, OSDI, or similar).
- Familiarity with observability platforms like Splunk.
- Strong fascination with AI-powered, self-repairing, and flexible database systems.
- Experience in integrating AI models directly into database engines or infrastructure.
