Job Description

Google is hiring a Network Implementation Engineer to support global edge network implementation engine delivery, network deployment, maintenance, and operations. The role involves coordinating with engineering, infrastructure, field, and telecommunications teams to deliver scalable network solutions. The position focuses on network connectivity, deployment packages, technical documentation, capacity workflows, troubleshooting, and reliable infrastructure operations across Google’s worldwide network.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the team responsible for network connectivity.
• Ensure that standardized bills of materials and network design documents are created.
• Generate repeatable work packages for the third party and project coordinator.
• Produce implementation plans, technical documents, deployment documentation, and processes.
• Deliver and troubleshoot capacity management processes for network devices in global network locations.
• Travel up to 25% as needed for network implementation purposes.

Requirements

• Network engineering, telecom engineering or relevant technical qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience in DWDM, TCP/IP, or system design operational approach.
• Experience working with field technicians, engineers, contractors or vendors in a telecoms environment.
• Knowledgeable about network infrastructure, connectivity, deployment and operations.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for cross-technical/business functional areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Networking infrastructure experience; rack and stack experience; experience in setting up devices and quality acceptance process.
• Network implementation experience and creation of network implementation packages.
• Creation of Methods of Operating Procedures (MOPs) for network implementation.
• Multi-level experience working together and being influential in the technical decision-making process.
• Strong experience in DWDM and TCP/IP networking, with practical knowledge of network design, deployment, and operations.
