Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and manage cloud-native data platforms that are both scalable and secure.
  • Utilize SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), SAP Analytics Cloud, SLT Replication Server, and SAP HANA Cloud to provide data solutions.
  • Create data integration solutions in a complex hybrid landscape where both SAP and Non-SAP systems like Oracle, Kafka, MySQL, Postgres, Snowflake, and S3 co-exist.
  • Conduct data prep, integration, modeling, and governance in line with data mesh practices.
  • Facilitate Data Science, AI, and ML use cases across SAP and cloud environments.
  • Apply security, monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices in cloud-native infrastructures.
  • Lead automation initiatives to eliminate manual tasks and expand platform reliability.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create data architectures that are high-performance and cost-efficient.

Key Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms or analytics.
  • Wide-ranging and deep knowledge of SAP Data and Analytics landscape made up of SAP Datasphere, SAP BDC and SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience in HANA data modeling, SQL scripting, data transformations and performance optimization.
  • Collaboration in the domain of data integration, replication, federation, scheduling and monitoring both between SAP and Non-SAP systems.
  • Full understanding of SAP BTP and cloud-native architectures.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently while being a helpful and supportive team member in cross-functional teams too.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields is a must.
  • Good knowledge of Python and integration of HANA-ML; awareness of AI Core and ML Ops is a plus.
  • A comprehension of authentication mechanisms, certificates, secrets, and security protocols is required.
  • Practical experience with SAP BW 7.x, BW/4HANA, and S/4HANA embedded analytics would be good.
  • Awareness regarding orchestration and monitoring patterns for data pipelines would be fine.
  • An understanding of hybrid cloud architectures, including regions, availability zones, VPCs, load balancers and API gateways is a plus.
  • Proven experience in communication and cooperation with business stakeholders, as well as in solving complex cross-component problems are required.
