The position of Principal Database Product Architect encompasses the whole architecture, strategy, and the roadmap for Oracle and multi-cloud database platforms. It leads to large-scale, secure modernization of data across OCI, AWS, Azure, and GCP, whereas developing partnerships with different teams such as product, architecture, engineering, and operations to bring forth robust enterprise-level database solutions.

Primary Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the comprehensive technical design and future guidance of database platforms in a multi-cloud setting consisting of AWS, Azure, GCP together with on-premises and OCI.
- Convert business and customer needs into uniform reference architectures and Oracle-based data platform designs that are reusable.
- Delineate and direct large enterprise database migration as well as modernization strategies with the least or no downtime.
- Create database architectures that are highly available, resilient, secure, and scalable through multi-region and multi-AZ deployments.
- Set platform benchmarks for performance, capacity, observability, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Work closely with product management and building teams to establish new database services, improvements, and market entry points that would stand out.
- Offer architectural governance, provide technical leadership, and be the escalation point for complex database and platform issues.
- Guide and train senior DBAs and architects during strategic customer and presales engagements while providing support.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 12 to 15-plus years in Oracle database engineering/administration with senior or lead DBA duties.
- Thorough knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g/12c/19c/23ai, including HA, backup/recovery, and performance tuning, is offered.
- Utilized GoldenGate, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, ZDM, and snapshot standby are practical experience.
- Possessing a solid past in capacity planning, performance engineering, and SLA-driven design.
- Over 3 years of experience in database architecture design on OCI and at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of how databases can be integrated with cloud networking, security, storage, and observability stacks.
- A strong understanding of DBaaS, Oracle Fusion Applications, and multi-tenant/shared infrastructural models.
- Exceptional skills in communication, leadership, and managing stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing and developing databases that are used by managed services or DBaaS based on catalogs.
- Involvement in presales, solution design workshops, and responding to RFP/RFI.
- Familiarity with other RDBMS platforms like PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Azure SQL.
- Certification in OCI Architect/Operations, Oracle DBA (12c or later), or AWS Solutions Architect, etc.
