A Principal Cloud Solution Architect is a role that primarily involves interacting with high-level stakeholders and important customers. The main responsibilities include designing, architecting, and implementing large-scale cloud solutions. 

Complex business requirements are turned into easy-to-use, secure, resilient, and high-performance architectures while the customer is being assisted from proof of concept to production deployment. This role requires a combination of deep technical knowledge, strong business skills, customer leadership, and presales solutioning.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support large enterprise-level customers by understanding requirements and defining overall cloud solutions based on those requirements.
  • Design, build and deploy large enterprise-scale complex systems containing infrastructure, data management, middleware, and applications.
  • Create the technical architecture (also known as Design Models) to reflect business, financial, and strategic objectives for scalable and secure technology.
  • Conduct technical workshops, proofs of concepts, roadmaps, and customer onboarding activities to help guide your solutions.
  • Assist customers as they progress from POC to Production Deployment by providing configuration, scripting, and enablement services.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on delivering custom technical presentations, live presentations, workshops, webinars, and events.
  • Create technical documents including whitepapers, solution code, technical blogs, and video tutorials.
  • Function as a technical pre-sales and post-sales resource within the Sales Organization.
  • Guide engineering teams in identifying gaps in customer requirements and developing enhancement proposals to meet those gaps.
  • Remain up to date on cloud technologies, artificial intelligence technologies, and emerging enterprise technologies to ensure continued architecture leadership.
  • Develop and mentor other senior architects and technical contributors as a senior technical expert.

Essential Qualifications

  • Over ten years of professional experience in the areas of cloud architecture, solution design, or enterprise systems.
  • Experience that demonstrably covers the design and execution of intricate, powerful, and secure enterprise solutions.
  • A solid presales, customer-facing roles, or solution advisory engagements background is required.
  • Proficiency with at least one of the leading cloud platforms, namely AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Quick ability to switch over to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Deepness of knowledge regarding enterprise databases, middleware, and application architectures.
  • Superb communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities are characterized.
  • Ability to attract and persuade the company’s top management, including the C-level executives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fifteen years and more of total technology experience with 5 years and more of presales or customer engagement roles, in addition to that.
  • Experience in working with Oracle Database technologies and/or Exadata systems.
  • Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs) in enterprise solutions.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
  • Participation in the delivery of large-scale digital transformation or cloud modernization programs.
  • A strong combination of technical depth and business/commercial insight.
