Job Description

Wipro aims to hire a highly skilled GCP Data Engineer to build and maintain comprehensive data processing and analytical solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. In addition to building robust and scalable data pipelines and cloud data storage solutions, the GCP Data Engineer will be responsible for designing an ETL Process and securing Access Controls for sensitive data. All of these components will play a vital role in the Data-Driven Decision-Making process for Wipro’s Enterprise customers on a Large-Scale basis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maximize the use of Google Cloud products for comprehensive data processing pipelines’ creation, development, and support.
  • Collaborate with BigQuery in the data storage, querying, and analytics process extensively.
  • Implement both batch and streaming data workflows using DataFlow and Apache Beam (Python).
  • Manage and control data pipelines with the help of Google Cloud Composer.
  • Leverage IAM alongside other GCP services to provide data security, governance, and access management controls.
  • Create Python scripts for data processing and automation that are neat, efficient, and maintainable.
  • Use SQL to execute queries, analyze and verify data in BigQuery.
  • Promptly identify and resolve issues related to data quality, performance, and pipelines.
  • Interact with different teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
  • Get involved in system design, root cause analysis, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications Required

  • Require a Data Engineer that has extensive hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform.
  • Candidates must have deep expertise across GCP services such as Google Compute Engine, Google Cloud Storage, Identity and Access Management, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer.
  • Experience must include mastery of SQL and an understanding of Relational Database Concepts.
  • Candidates will have experience with both Apache Beam as well as experience programming with Python.
  • In addition to the above experiences, Candidates must have an understanding of the ETL Process, as well as the Architecture of Data Models.
  • Candidates selected for this position will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging abilities as well as strong written communication skills required for documenting data processes and collaborating with business stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Participation in extensive or cloud-based data engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, data pipeline monitoring, and performance improvement.
  • Past professional experience in customer-oriented or SLA-based environments.
  • GCP certifications or similar cloud/data engineering certificates will be a plus.
