Amazon is looking for a Data Centre Linux and Hardware Engineer who will help maintain and operate its extensive cloud infrastructure which runs through all its Indian data centers. The position requires handling hardware issues and managing Linux systems while maintaining operational stability through collaboration with engineering teams and operations teams to achieve AWS environment availability and performance goals.

Main Duties

  • Maintain and support data center infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking equipment.
  • Perform hardware installation, rack deployment, and break-fix troubleshooting activities.
  • Monitor systems, respond to incidents, and resolve operational issues to meet SLA requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external vendors for maintenance and upgrades.
  • Document technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to process improvements.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent qualification which demonstrates their technical skills. 
  • Experience through their work in environments which required them to troubleshoot and repair computer hardware. 
  • Fundamental understanding of networking concepts and the various components that make up network infrastructure. 
  • Operate within Linux operating system environments. The individual needs to have physical strength for lifting equipment and working in data center facilities which require them to rotate shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data center operations or equivalent infrastructure work environments. 
  • Direct experience in resolving server hardware problems and maintaining server hardware components.
  • Knowledge of Linux system administration and its command-line interface.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of cloud infrastructure systems and their best operational practices.
  • Demonstrate their ability to work with technical teams while maintaining effective communication skills.
