A Cloud DevOps Engineer will be accountable for the uninterrupted running of Oracle’s Analytics Applications Cloud infrastructure. The responsibility consists of deployment automation, CI/CD management, incident handling, monitoring, security operations, and continuous process improvement while forming close ties with development and DevOps teams in the fast-paced cloud environment mentioned above.

Primary Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

  • Deploy, Maintain and Operate Cloud
  • Use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to deploy applications to multiple production and pre-production environments.
  • Utilize best practices to follow the DevOps process to support the production environment and release cycles.
  • Provide operational excellence by successfully executing interim patches and hotfixes.

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, Monitoring and Response

  • Manage CI and CD tools and build chain for the product
  • Monitor the system’s performance by measuring CPU, IO, Network, OS, and Database metrics and addressing the system bottlenecks.
  • Own the resolution of production incidents, conduct a root cause analysis, and respond to production incidents.

Security and Reliability Engineering

  • Perform Security Operations – vulnerability scans, triage, and remediation
  • Ensure compliance with established security standards and frameworks
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot and resolve system failures and outages.

Automation and Process Improvement

  • Automate process and create tools to increase reliability and efficiency
  • Create, document and maintain Runbook/SOP and Operational Processes
  • Continuously improve the systems/processes as well as product delivery pipelines. 

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or a similar field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in DevOps or Cloud Operations.
  • 7 + years of experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Hands on experience with Linux/Unix based systems and scripting as well as debugging.
  • Integrating Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools into Production Monitoring Systems.
  • Excellent skill set in problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and teamwork/collaboration.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Docker applications and deployments using Kubernetes.
  • Great skilled programmer with Shell, Python and/or Java.
  • Experience with log aggregation and alerting based on log patterns.
  • Familiarity with security scanners like Sonatype Scan, Fortify Scan, Nessus, and similar scanners.
  • Ability to work with zest and concentration in a high-speed situation, while handling more than one priority and task.
