Job Description

SAP is searching for a Chief AI Expert to develop and implement its internal AI strategy across Software-Development Operations from its office in Bangalore. The role requires the creation of enterprise-level AI systems which will support two main objectives: developing Agentic AI technologies and creating AI-based systems that enhance productivity. 

The position requires the leader to manage AI governance practices and develop vendor relationships and oversee the creation of multi-agent platforms while guiding AI developers and experts.

Main Duties

  • Define and execute SAP’s internal AI strategy and long-term roadmap.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across productivity platforms.
  • Establish AI operating models including governance, standards, and playbooks.
  • Architect and deliver multi-agent platforms and autonomous workflows.
  • Lead evaluation and partnerships for foundation models and cloud AI services.
  • Mentor AI Experts and Developers while remaining hands-on with coding and prototyping.
  • Drive responsible AI governance including risk, privacy, and security frameworks.
  • Enable AI-driven change management and enterprise adoption.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. 
  • Must have more than 15 years of experience in technology and product development and data management positions. 
  • Candidates must have spent more than five years working directly with Artificial Intelligence technology. 
  • Possesses a solid understanding of GenAI technology and LLMs and transformers and RAG systems and fine-tuning methods. 
  • Have Enterprise Architecture expertise for AI systems which includes API, microservices and security components. 
  • Worked with distributed computing systems which include Databricks (PySpark/Scala) technologies. 
  • Individuals excel at executive communication while demonstrating proficiency in developing strategic plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate advanced programming abilities through their proficiency in Python programming language. 
  • Possess practical knowledge through their experience of working with TensorFlow, PyTorch and scikit-learn. 
  • Specialized knowledge of multi-agent systems through their work with LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex and Semantic Kernel. 
  • Expertise in both DevOps and MLOps operational procedures. 
  • Experience in patents, open-source contributions, or AI thought leadership initiatives.
