Apple is hiring a Finance Data Engineer to support the Record to Report (R2R) organization by designing and delivering robust data pipelines and automation solutions. The data engineering position based in Bengaluru requires developers to create dependable data products through their work with advanced data platforms while they team up with finance and data science and engineering departments to enhance accounting operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to transform accounting needs into data solutions which can grow the business operations. 
  • Create data pipelines and interfaces through their complete process from initial design until final monitoring. 
  • Establish data workflows which will support its accounting operations and financial reporting requirements. 
  • Combine data from internal systems and external sources together with information stored in cloud data warehouses. 
  • Work with data scientists and ML engineers and software engineers to develop common solutions. 
  • Establish data engineering and machine learning engineering standards which they implement as their primary development process. 
  • Bridge between business representatives and engineering teams through its technical communication responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python and SQL and shell scripting languages. 
  • Possess practical skills working with either Dataiku or other data workflow platforms.
  • Demonstrate experience working with Snowflake and S3-based cloud data warehouses and lakehouse environments. 
  • Understand database design principles and best practices for data architecture. 
  • Ability to communicate with finance professionals who do not possess technical expertise. 
  • Establishing data security measures and implementing encryption methods and managing sensitive information. 
  • Knowledge about CI/CD pipelines and version control systems including Git-based workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The candidate must possess knowledge about accounting procedures and the Record to Report R2R process. 
  • Experience in collaborating with finance and accounting teams. 

Experience of working with machine learning workflows that operate on enterprise data platforms.
