Job Description

The person chosen for the Google Cloud Platform Deployment Manager/Domain Architect Level 2 will have the responsibility of designing, upgrading and automating big GCP environments. The daily activities will include migration of data to cloud, developing both high availability and low-cost architectures, installing Infrastructure as a Code solutions, and enterprise mission-critical systems integration using CI/CD pipelines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and put into practice cloud architectures for GCP that are to be scalable, resilient, and economically powered. 
  • Design blueprints for cloud architecture and produce comprehensive design docs. 
  • Take charge of infrastructure modernization and cloud migration projects to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 
  • Introduce Infrastructure as Code via Terraform and Google Cloud Deployment Manager. 
  • Make the technology work for you by automating the cloud environments’ provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management. 
  • Fuse CI/CD pipelines together with Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI. 
  • Work on the defining of the solutions by using Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and VPC networking. 
  • Come up with secure networking designs that cover load balancing, DNS, firewalls, and VPNs. 
  • Use Cloud Operations Suite, Prometheus, and Grafana for monitoring and logging purposes. 
  • Do things right by following the rules and best practices for governance, security, availability, and cost optimization. 
  • Work together with other departments to troubleshoot and fix complicated cloud infrastructure problems.

Basic Requirements

  • 12-20 years of cloud architecture/infrastructure engineering experience
  • More than five years of experience in cloud computing and three years of GCP experience would be helpful.
  • Highly knowledgeable about GCP Services, Networking, and Cloud Security.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Highly knowledgeable about CI/CD Pipelines and Cloud Automation.
  • Experience monitoring, logging and observing tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, design skills, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Certification. 
  • Use of Kubernetes (GKE) and Containerized Workloads in the past. 
  • Multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments experience. 
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge about DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT governance and compliance frameworks.
