Job Summary
The Sales Manager – Media & Magazine will be responsible for driving advertising and partnership revenue across print magazines, digital platforms, and special publications. This role involves developing sales strategies, managing key advertiser relationships, leading the sales team, and expanding revenue through innovative media solutions while aligning with the brand’s editorial vision.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed advertising revenue targets
- Identify new revenue opportunities across digital ads, print ads, sponsored content, events, and branded partnerships
- Monitor market trends, audience data, and competitor activity in the media landscape
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers, media agencies, and strategic partners
- Pitch integrated advertising solutions across multiple platforms (web, mobile, social, print, video, newsletters, etc.)
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long-term advertising agreements
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets
- Set sales goals, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Conduct regular training on media products, audience insights, and selling techniques
- Work closely with editorial, marketing, analytics, and product teams to align advertising offerings
- Collaborate on branded content and sponsorship packages while maintaining editorial standards
- Provide sales forecasts, reports, and revenue analysis to senior management
- Manage sales pipelines using CRM tools
- Track campaign performance and ensure client satisfaction and renewals
- Prepare weekly/monthly sales performance reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in news media, digital media, or advertising
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
