Job Description

Cisco is hiring a DevOps Engineer in Bangalore to build and operate scalable cloud platforms supporting Webex services. The role focuses on AWS infrastructure, automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and platform reliability. The position involves managing databases and streaming systems, troubleshooting production environments, supporting AI/ML workloads, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve deployment efficiency and system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and build backend systems that should be scalable and give reliable services for Webex.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and IAM.
  • Utilize approaches like IaC using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Establish pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub for reliable deployment.
  • Ensure reliability of services, troubleshoot production problems, and manage  databases, Kafka, and AI/ML workloads.

Requirements

  • Bring experience from 4 to 7 years of DevOps, cloud engineering, SRE, and/or platform engineering.
  • Bring proven hands-on experience working on AWS cloud services and infrastructures.
  • Proven expertise in using Terraform for infrastructure as code management.
  • Bring strong hands-on experience in Ansible for configuration and infrastructure management.
  • Manage Jenkins, GitHub pipelines, and Redis, OpenSearch, Kafka, or PostgreSQL databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the usage of Kafka and other streaming technology.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and other enterprise-level database management systems.
  • Experience with the usage of OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Redis and other database technologies.
  • Experience with the usage of Python/Java programming languages.
  • Experience with the usage of Docker/kubernetes and AI/ML/GAI platforms.
